This is, by far, one of the best Mediterranean and Egyptian restaurants in all of Berlin if not the best. Let me break it down: 1. The staff and owner are very friendly and very caring. 2. The place is beautiful and very clean. 3. The food, oh my God, the food is tasteful beyond description. What else would a hungry diner need? My wife and I are from Alexandria, a city in the North of Egypt on the south coast of the Mediterranean sea, after which the restaurant is named. Our city is known henceforth for seafood and we have our own unique recipes and cuisine. The restaurant owner is from that city and he prepares the food then with the same recipes we grew up on. I feel he may have chosen to be close to the beautiful Tegel lake for sentimental reasons then. We went there with a critical eye, hungry stomachs and high hopes, and we weren't disappointed. The menu is huge, combining several Egyptian cuisines to cover seafood, meats, chicken, vegetarian options, and even desserts and fresh juices. We ordered 2 grilled fish plates, each one is with a different method of grilling, each plate comes with saffron rice, mashed potatos and egyptian salad in a very nice lettuce shell. We also ordered a fried calamari plate, a butterfly shrimp plate with butter cream sauce, a special shrimp rice plate that we call sayadeya (highly recommended btw, made with browned caramelized onions that gives the rice a brown colour and an unforgettable taste), creamy shrimp soup and fresh lemon mint juice. It was a big order that crowded our table, but I couldn't stop myself. They also gave us a basket of fresh homemade white pita bread. Every single bite was a fusion of flavors in the mouth. The rice and soup had deshelled clams in addition to shrimp, which was a happy surprise. I couldn't stop myself to even just take a photo of the food. All in all, the restaurant is a beautiful experience, I highly recommend that you give it a visit, you won't be disappointed. The restaurant has also meat and chicken options and even vegetarian options, so no one will be left out. I just came back home to write this well-deserved review and am already thinking of when would our next visit be.

I was here a few days ago and I met possibly the most friendliest waiter in Tegel. He recommended me the Duck Teriyaki and it was fantastic! Oberbräu beer is simply the best. Definitely come back.
